Where did the time go?

It has been some time since I have blogged. Oh my!! Where has the time gone?

I was heavily thrown into my work as we had a Christmas craft sale at the school I attend.  I am really happy with the experience I gained.  It was the first sale I had been in other then selling my work at school and when I used to sell my work at a salon here in Fredericton.

These are some of the things I sold at the sale.  Please excuse the pictures.  I had a hard time booking the light cube. The pictures are a little amateur.

I learned a great many things from this sale.

#1 People really like cranberry red. I am considering making a line of pots that are simply red. I myself do not enjoy red pots that much but it seems to sell and perhaps doing what the public wants most I could make a bit more money.

#2 People may block your display.  Two times on our short night my display was blocked from people talking right in front of it for about 20 minutes each time, at our busiest times.  It was a little discouraging, however I am really glad I saw how that could happen.  It had never crossed my mind.

#3 I only had one line for this sale.  It really made me think about having two or three even at a sale.  It makes a big difference when the customer has a variety to pick from of your work.

#4 Interesting pieces.  The next sale I attend I will try to have a larger variety.  I had big bowls, mugs, spoon rest and spoon holders, some vases and some small covered jars.  Next time I think I will try to have some large platters, pitchers, sculptural work and teapots.

Overall I am very happy with the experience I gained and am very excited to bring that to the table next time.
