Off the topic of pottery...
I feel so blessed to enjoy, observe and indulge in simple moments that make memories, form bonds, put smiles on little faces. Today was a wonderful Saturday.
My son and I did a short meditation (3 minutes) and I got inspired to create a mandala. I used to make them to pass the time and think. After the mandala was finished, I got inspired to do a rough sketch of a tattoo I have wanted for a while. Today has been a spiral of inspirations.

I really enjoy drawing mandalas. They are pretty simple after you get started. After you are done it is pretty relaxing to colour in as well.
The making of/colouring the mandala is a form of meditation for some. If you are interested I encourage you to read up on the meaning. For myself it is a time where I can sit and go within and back out again. Let my thoughts flow and observe them. Other times I enjoy listening to music and tuning out thoughts and simply be in the moment of creating. The meanings for individuals are endless. The reward is very lovely.
The tattoo I want to get is of the Goddess Ishtar. She is a Goddess of old. She gained a bad rap after Christianity was born. She has many names. Also she has been described as "Light of the world", "Bestower of strength", "Opener of the womb", "Forgiver of sins", "Torch of heaven and earth", and many more.

She and the Goddess Minerva are my favorites. I love the strength they embody. Feminine power, Honor, Truth and Light.
Below is a baked clay relief of the Goddess Ishtar. This is what inspired my tattoo.
